Conclusion of
California
City Canals from City Voices
Go to Home Page
Those canals, like the
Venice
canals could have been something to hold on to. Lots of people
fought for and helped in the restoration of the Venice
Canals, now people from all over the world visit them and enjoy
them. And that community is a lot closer. A Little piece of the old may have
been our ticket to world recognition. Especially since there are rumors the
Motel may finish.
We need to rethink this let’s
look like everyone else attitude. Give the parks commission a chance to form, we
need Parks and Beautification commissions in order for the people to participate
through them, let everyone have a peace of our new history. Let everyone decide
what we want to keep of our old history, what’s worth fighting for and what we
should cover up. If you want to be different you have to think different. Those
before us were thinking different.
Last of all the city officials have to back up their
words, or quit giving them. Mixed messages leave us all in the dark, fierce
leadership that stands behind their words and don't drag their feet is important
to the growth of business as well as community assets. The city can't keep doing
whatever they want to property that is not completely theirs. The California
City parks
belong to all of us, we are all here, we are not absentee owners, don't treat us as
such. We either have a commission, or not. Make a decision California City
Officials and stand behind it.
