The California City Optimist Club is proud to announce the installation of new Officers for the year 2009-2010.

The ceremony took place at the Community Center and was officiated by the District Governor Jim Morack and newly elected Lt Governor Ed Waldheim.

The Officers are:

Jean Paul LeBlanc, President;

Mary Ann LeBlanc, 1st Vice President;

Thom Lapsworth, 2nd Vice President;

Karen Sanders, 3rd Vice President;

Kathy Sellard, Secretary;

Lynn Hutchinson, Treasurer.

The Officers for the Hacienda Elementary Junior Octagon Optimists (JOOI Club), self-named the "JOOI-FUL JETS", were also sworn to their duties.

5th Grade: President, Marissa Scofield;

Vice President,Madison Sprague;

Secretary, Gabby Barbie;

Treasurer, Shania Andrews

and 6th Grade: President, Rebecca Kirk;

Vice President, Christian Comejo;

Secretary, Sabrina O'Rafferty;

Treasurer, Kyle Livingston.
The Optimists in California City are in great shape for the year to come but would love to add new members to be able to start new projects with the goal of helping more of our Kids and increase participation in projects already in place like the Essay Contest,

the Oratorical Contest, the Youth Foundation, the Scholarships Awards, etc...

The California City Optimist Club would like to thank all who attended or contributed to the Installation Ceremony Dinner and specially Mary Ann LeBlanc, Roy and Karen Sanders, Linda and Ed Waldheim, Governor Jim Morack, Kathy and Michael Sellard, Shelley Hornback, Lynn Hutchinson, and to welcome the public to their regular meetings the second Monday of the Month at 6:00 pm at Chuck's Pizza in the Victor Plaza.
