Continuation of "Problem Solving in California City"

Go to Home Page

Myself and Mr. Whitney from I.C.M proposed a vocational film school for The 152 project in November. The 152 is the hangers at the airport. We proposed it in 3 ways. One way is to lease it with city participation, another option is to buy it, 3rd option would be to just lease it. We are still waiting for an answer on 2 of those proposals. The Obama administration is sending out stimulus funds for all types of school projects and this city is not even in line, and we offered a shovel ready package.

I personally brought plans in last July to create my own water system and presented them to Linda Lunsford.  The plans are still there the money for this was there from my bank.  Linda Lunsford suggested that we not do that but go in front of the city council which to me I thought was a big gamble, I took that bet because I have faith, The city council approved the water line and my plans still set on her desk in City Hall collecting dust along side the city council approval. Someone dropped the ball in order to fix the problem out here they need to talk, or the collateral damage from all this type of behavior is going to land straight in the lap of the tax payers. There is nothing unique about Wonder Acres or its situation the city annexed this property in 23 years ago, you think they would have gotten there by now. In Cantil and Fremont Valley they have water tanks, all developing communities do, it's just fact and it should not take 23 years to get one, they have one on the hill in Rancho Vista.

Promises not kept, phone calls not returned have a negative affect, try doing that with your employer, or your bank. Last year I started looking into the city's core problems, I ask several council persons to set down in front of our cameras and discuss them one on one.

The results were that one city council person refused if he had no say in how the show was produced, the other just haven't called me back.

The Mayor Dr. Larry Adams who I had left 6 messages with, never returned my calls, I even left one at the city desk hoping someone would personally give him the message. In all fairness, Wednesday I did run into him at Ramon's as he was chasing Mr. Quiggle and Mr. Strong all over the city, he said he did receive my calls but was too busy to return them. I guess chasing Mr. Quiggle and Mr. Strong take up all his spare time because he was a no show for the board meeting to bring a college to the area as well this week.

I was told this week that I should leave, by a business person in town here, he explained that he had walked away from several business's and thing always turned out better, that is not something I understand, my answer to him is No, I chose this area, I have a lot invested. I will move some assets out for survival, but I will make this work. The core problems with this city will get exposed, so they can be dealt with, and sound stages will get built here at the studio. I may have no friends at the end, and that's OK, I came here to build a studio first, I'll make friends later.
